I wrote this piece gazing outside my small university window during a very random but typically confusing British snowy season. I got out of my bed and just felt lifted and light when watching each flake do whatever it intended to do. I often find that my writing process works when I am called to look out into the world and connect it with how I am feeling internally or how the external reflects my internal in some way, whether through personal relationships, societal issues or mental conflict. I find that this piece helped me understand that it is okay to accept change and that there is infamous beauty in life's chaotic and beautiful ebbs and flows.

Winter's Joy

The snow fell peacefully onto the grey slated platform. The wind blew the tiny specs of white hope east. The spider web situated at the corner of the window caught these majestic flakes into its trap.Creating the beauty that settles snow in the spider’s home. Some are stuck in time floating effortlessly between the winds.Mesmerizing the iris’s of many, yet only capturing the hearts of a few.Only in the hearts of a few, can the action of snow falling towards your window evoke feelings of transportation.Only in the hearts of a few, can the action of snow knocking against your window make you question them,"where are you going?" and "can I come too?"When the snow falls so does the armour that I’ve been using to help me forget, that I am at one with this beautiful concept.Snow is falling, snow is rising, snow is drifting, and snow is gliding.Snow is smiling and wilding. The snow exists, and that’s why I’m trying.
