Sona Sahakian (1996) is a visual artist based in the Hague, the Netherlands. She graduated from the department Fine Arts at the Royal Academy of the Arts , The Hague. Her works consist of paintings, drawings, collages, photographs , installations and films (video art). In recent years she has participated in various groups exhibitions and projects.
Her works are about the search for an inner experience of time, where memories are made experienceable in the shape of fixation and transformation.
In her photo series “The miracle of light” she shows the special phenomenon of light. Light is something magical and elusive, where being and not-being come together and merge. You feel the energy and breath of life that cannot be expressed in words. Through our eyes we see and perceive and thus nourish our creative gaze and energy. There is something hidden in reality that we penetrate and perceive more deeply through our senses. In this way we create new shapes and dimensions that strengthen our imagination and remain anchored in our memories and memory.
